STRUCTURE

Structure means the physical and psychological constraints and guides of flow patterns within, through and outside of systems. Structures include physical infrastructure, and power roles and rules, especially those for managing boundaries. Structure serves to direct energy, to channel it in certain directions. The configuration of these and the system boundary eventually shape the flow of system dynamics into patterns.
